SECTION 00100 - INVITATION TO BID CITY OF DUNEDIN PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA 34698 BID NO. 11-943
Sealed bids for the Highland Avenue at Main Street Intersection Improvements project will be received until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Purchasing Office, 750 Milwaukee Avenue, Dunedin, Florida 34698. Bids will be opened, logged in and read aloud at that time. Any individual requiring assistance must give the Purchasing Section written notice 48 hours in advance so accommodations can be made.
This project consists of the following Base Bid work and/or Bid Alternate work. Any or all of the Bid Alternates may not be awarded at the time of award.
There are three areas of work on Main Street for this project.
The first area is the intersection of Highland Avenue and Main Street. This project will narrow the width of Highland Avenue south of Main Street and increase the width of sidewalk on both sides of the roadway. Portions of the proposed brick sidewalk on the east side of Highland Avenue south of Main Street will be at two elevations. Other work will be required as detailed in the plans.
The second area is 471 Main Street. This project includes the removal of concrete driveway and installation of curb and brick sidewalk in the right-of-way.
The third area is Main Street between Grant Street and Milwaukee Avenue. This project includes the removal of curb and asphalt on the north side of the road in the existing gore pavement marking areas. New curb, top soil and peanut grass will be installed to increase the landscaping areas. The curb will include two-foot wide openings for drainage.
Discrimination: An entity or affiliate who has been placed on the discriminatory vendor list may not submit a bid on a contract to provide goods or services to a public entity, may not submit a bid on a contract with a public entity for the construction or repair of a public building or public work, may not submit bids on leases of real property to a public entity, may not award or perform work as a contractor, supplier, subcontractor, or consultant under contract with any public entity, and may not transact business with any public entity.
The work shall be accomplished in accordance with the Contract Documents which will be available at the office of the City Purchasing Agent, Chuck Ankney, located at 750 Milwaukee Avenue, Dunedin, FL.
All bids shall be submitted on standard bid forms (in duplicate), which are furnished with the bidding package and shall be in a sealed envelope marked:

The City of Dunedin reserves the right to accept such bids as are to be in the best interests of the City, to waive informalities, or to reject any or all bids. Bids which are incomplete or which are not submitted in accordance with instructions in the INVITATION may be disqualified.
