ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received, opened and read aloud in the Commission Chambers of City Hall, 750 Main Street, Safety Harbor, Florida, 34695 at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011 for the following contract:

2ND STREET SOUTH PARKING IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II

Copies of the Contract Documents and Drawings will be available at 750 Main Street, Safety Harbor, in the Engineering Department, on Friday, May 20, 2011, for purchase upon payment of $25.00, which is non-refundable.

All bidders are required to attend a Pre-Bid Conference to be held in the Commission Chambers of City Hall, 750 Main Street, Safety Harbor, Florida, 34695 at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 27, 2011.

The work generally includes, but is not limited to, construction of on-street parking and drainage improvements within the right-of-way and adjacent easements of 2nd Street south from 5th Avenue South to 7th Avenue South, in the city limits of the City of Safety Harbor. Activities include demolition, the construction of concrete sidewalks, concrete curbing, fencing, signage, brick parking spaces, stormwater structures, underground treatment vaults, relocation and/or resetting of subsurface utilities, landscaping and lighting.

The contract time is 150 calendar days and the project construction estimate is $447,000.00.

All proposals must be submitted on standard forms, which are furnished in the Contract Documents, and the entire bid package must be kept together and returned intact clearly marked SEALED BID PROPOSAL FOR 2ND STREET SOUTH PARKING IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, all in accordance with the provisions contained in the Contract Documents.

No bidder may withdraw his bid after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. All bids must be firm bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the time set for opening the bids.

Before award of contract, contractor must be registered with the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board and hold a Safety Harbor License.

Any potential bidder/proposer that is presently engaged in litigation with the City of Safety Harbor or has made a claim that is unresolved, wherein the claim or the litigation involves a prior project with the City, will be ineligible to receive this bid package/proposal and no bid/proposal will be received from any such proposer or potential bidder.

The City of Safety Harbor reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
