CITY OF DUNEDIN Consultant Services for Cedar Creek & Lake Sperry Dredging Project RFP 12-975
The City of Dunedin is soliciting proposals from firms (Consultants) qualified to provide professional engineering, biological and environmental, geotechnical and field survey services to evaluate the conditions of Cedar Creek and Lake Sperry for purposes of understanding the merits, costs and frequency of dredging. The Cedar Creek project site extends from St Joseph Sound, on the west, to the southeast corner of the Cedar Creek Mobile Home Park, generally spanning Bayshore Blvd (US Highway 19), in the City of Dunedin. The Lake Sperry project site comprises the lake limits bounded by 28 private properties adjacent to Bass Blvd, Terrace Road, Gladys Cir. and Lakeside Dr.

The selected Consultant will work with City staff to conduct field surveys and evaluations of conditions necessary to confirm whether and how the Cedar Creek project area should be dredged to remove accumulated silt and to improve visual aesthetics and to facilitate safe, casual boating in Cedar Creek. Similarly, the Consultant will work with City staff to conduct field surveys and evaluations of conditions necessary to confirm whether and how Lake Sperry should be dredged to remove accumulated silt and to improve visual aesthetics

Project work will be completed as two distinct tasks. Task 1 comprises a feasibility study to confirm the basis for project permitting. The Consultant will perform all Task 1 project work, and present the results of that work including evaluations, assessments and recommendations in a project report within three months following the notice to proceed. Phase 2 will comprise project permitting, preparation of project bid documents and project implementation.

The City will conduct a Pre-Proposal meeting at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. The meeting will take place at the Engineering Conference Room located in the Technical Services Building (2nd floor) at 737 Louden Ave Dunedin, FL. 34698.
