Sealed bids for the Causeway Water Main Replacement and Cedar Creek & Curlew Creek Subaqueous Water Main Replacement project, will be received until 3:00 p.m., October 16, 2012 at the Purchasing Office, 750 Milwaukee Avenue, Dunedin, Florida 34698. Bids will be opened, logged in and read aloud at that time. Any individual requiring assistance must give the Purchasing Section written notice 48 hours in advance so accommodations can be made.

This project consists of the following Base Bid work and/or Bid Alternate work. Any or all of the Bid Alternates may not be awarded at the time of award.

The Causeway Water Main Replacement Project provides for furnishing and installing C-905 DR-18 PVC and Ductile Iron water main by open cut methods along Causeway Blvd. from approximately 1,700 feet east of the Bascule Bridge to approximately 900 feet east of U.S. Alt. 19 on Curlew Road (SR-586) in Dunedin, Florida. The water main consists of the following:
1. 18-inch C-905 DR-18 PVC water main using open cut methods;
2. 18-inch Ductile Iron Pipe water main using open cut methods;
3. Air release valve assemblies for the water main;
3. Two steel casings to be installed by open cut;
4. Miscellaneous pipe, valves, fittings and connections to existing water main system; and
5. Fire hydrant assemblies.

The Cedar Creek & Curlew Creek Subaqueous Water Main Replacement Project provides for the construction of two 12-inch HDPE subaqueous water main crossings by the horizontal directional drill method of construction. One crossing is located along the east side of Alt. 19 (S.R. 595, Bayshore Blvd.), crosses Cedar Creek, and is approximately 300 feet in length between entry and exit pits. The other crossing is located on the City of Dunedin Golf Course, crosses Curlew Creek, and is approximately 450 feet in length between entry and exit pits. There is also some water main installation using open cut trenches, construction of two small precast concrete valve vaults, removal of existing ductile iron water main from support piers, and surface restoration consisting of driveway and sidewalk pavements, final grading, and sodding.

The work shall be accomplished in accordance with the Contract Documents which will be available at the office of the City Purchasing Agent, 750 Milwaukee Avenue, Dunedin, FL.

All bids shall be submitted on standard bid forms (in duplicate), which are furnished with the bidding package and shall be in a sealed envelope marked:
