SCHOOL BOARD OF PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA NOTICE OF CHANGE IN RULE ADOPTION
RULE AFFECTED: Policy 2510
TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS, INCLUDING TEXTBOOKS

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with subsection 120.54(3)(d)1., F.S., changes have been made to the proposed rule that guides the requisition, purchase, distribution, use, and management of instructional materials defined as items having intellectual content that are used to assist instruction in a subject or course. The policy outlines the Superintendent's, principal's, and parent's responsibilities; the use of flexibility funds; the process for District adoption of instructional materials; the utilization and disposal of instructional materials; and the procedures to challenge instructional materials.

Such amendments are reflected in Policy 2510 - INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS, INCLUDING TEXTBOOKS. Notice of Rule Development was published in The Business Observer on February 13, 2015. Notice of Public Hearing/Intended Agency Action was published in the same publication on March 13, 2015.

The changes are supported by the record of public hearings held on the rule, and/or are in response to written material submitted to the agency within 21 days after the date of publication of the notice of intended agency action or submitted to the agency between the date of publication of the notice and the end of the final public hearing.
