NOTICE
The City Commission of the City of Sarasota is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following Advisory Boards:
Affordable Housing Committee
Eleven seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage lending industry in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged in those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency (Planning Board)
• One seat for a citizen who resides within the jurisdiction of the local governing body making the appointments (City of Sarasota)
• One seat for a citizen who represents employers within the jurisdiction
• One seat for a citizen who represents essential services personnel; as defined in the Local Housing Assistance Plan

Board of Rules and Appeals
Five seats with the following requirements:
• Licensed mechanical contractor
• Licensed fire alarm contractor
• Licensed engineer
• Licensed plumbing contractor
• Licensed electrical contractor
Citizen Oversight Committee of the Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning
One seat for City Resident
Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board
Two seats with no requirements
Civil Service Board
Two seats with no requirements
Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
One seat with the following requirement:
• Retailer or merchant in the redevelopment area
Downtown Improvement District (DID) Board of Directors
One seat for a non-residential property owner subject to ad valorem taxation within the District
Historic Preservation Board
Two seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for an Attorney
• One seat for an Architect
Human Relations Board
Three seats with no requirements
Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
Three Seats with the following requirements:
• Owner of land within the redevelopment area
• Retailer or Merchant in the redevelopment area
• Citizen at large who is resident of the City
Public Art Committee
Two seats with the following requirements:
• Art Expert
• City Resident or Property Owner
St. Armands Business Improvement District Board of Directors
One seat for an individual subject to ad valorem taxation within the District
Preference is given to persons who reside or own property in the City of Sarasota.
