The City Commission of the City of Sarasota is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following Advisory Boards:
Board of Rules and Appeals
Five seats with the following requirements:
• Licensed mechanical contractor
• Licensed fire alarm contractor
• Licensed engineer
• Licensed plumbing contractor
• Licensed electrical contractor
Citizen Oversight Commission of the Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning
One seat for City Resident
Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board
Three seats with no requirement
Civil Service Board
Two seats with no requirement
Downtown Improvement District Expansion Taskforce Ad Hoc Committee
Two seats with the following requirements:
• owner of residential property subject to ad valorem taxation within the Rosemary District
• owner of residential property subject to ad valorem taxation within the boundaries of the existing Downtown Improvement District
Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
Three seats with the following requirement:
• Owner of land used for commercial purposes in the Redevelopment area
• Individual involved in construction development in the Redevelop- ment area
• Retailer or merchant in the Redevelopment area
Enterprise Zone Development Agency
Two seats with the following requirement:
• Local Business or Non-Profit Community Based Organization Operating within
the Zone
• Local Financial or Insurance entities
Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
Three Seats with the following requirements:
• Resident of the redevelopment area
• Citizen at large who is a resident of the City
• Individual involved in Finance and Banking
Parks, Recreation and Environmental Protection Advisory Board
Three seats with the following requirements:
• Two seats with no requirement
• One seat for a citizen with particular interest or association with the Robert L. Taylor Community Center
Public Art Committee
One seat with the following requirement:
• Architect
Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Citizens
Advisory Committee
One seat reserved for City Resident
Preference is given to persons who reside or own property in the City of Sarasota. To receive an application for appointment, please contact the Office of the City Auditor and Clerk, 1565 First Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34236, telephone number (941) 954-4160, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The application may also be obtained from the City's website at www.sarasotagov.com and selecting Citizen Advisory Boards.
