The City Commission of the City of Sarasota is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following Advisory Boards:
Affordable Housing Committee
Three seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who is actively engaged in those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing
• One seat for a citizen who represents essential services personnel; as defined in the Local Housing Assistance Plan
Board of Rules and Appeals
Four seats with the following requirements:
• Licensed mechanical contractor
• Licensed fire alarm contractor
• Licensed plumbing contractor
• Licensed electrical contractor
Citizen Oversight Committee of the Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning
One seat for City Resident
Civil Service Board
Three seats with no requirements
Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
Three seats with the following requirement:
• Individual involved in planning or design in the redevelopment area
• Representative of the Economic Development Corporation
• Individual involved in Finance and Banking
General Employees Pension Fund Board of Trustees
One seat for a city resident
Human Relations Board
One seat with no requirement
Parks, Recreation and Environmental Protection Advisory Board
One seat with no requirement
Planning Board/Local Planning Agency
One seat for a City Resident
Police Complaint Committee
One seat for a City Resident
Sarasota Housing Authority
Four seats with no requirements
St. Armands Business Improvement District Board of Directors
One seat for an individual subject to ad valorem taxation within the District
Preference is given to persons who reside or own property in the City of Sarasota. To receive an application for appointment, please contact the Office of the City Auditor and Clerk, 1565 First Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34236, telephone number (941) 954 4160, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The application may also be obtained from the City's website at www.sarasotagov.com and selecting Citizen Advisory Boards.
