CITY OF DUNEDIN Consultant Services for the Marina Dredging Project RFP 17-1077
The City of Dunedin is soliciting proposals from firms (Consultants) qualified to provide professional engineering, biological and environmental, geotechnical and field survey services, to evaluate and sample the existing sediment material within the City's Marina, quantify the volume of material required to be removed as needed to maintain navigable routes within the marina, design and permit (including the disposal site, as needed) the activities as required for the sediment removal, hauling, and disposal. An Engineer's Cost Estimate, Construction Plans and Technical Specifications would be created from this work effort, so that the City may bid and award a contract to dredge the City's Marina.
The selected Consultant will conduct field surveys and evaluations of conditions necessary to confirm whether and how the Marina project area should be dredged to remove accumulated silt, and to improve visual aesthetics and to facilitate safe, casual boating in the Marina.
Project work will be completed as two distinct tasks. Task 1, to occur within FY2017, comprises a feasibility study to confirm the basis for the project permitting, project construction costs, and the project sediment disposal options. The Consultant will perform all Task 1 project work and present the results of that work including evaluations, assessments, and recommendations in a project report within six months following the notice to proceed. Task 2, to occur within FY2018, will comprise the project design, plans production, permitting, and preparation of the final bid documents. The construction activities will occur in FY2019.
The City will conduct a Pre-Proposal meeting at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 16, 2017. The meeting will take place at the City Marina Harbormaster's Office (2nd floor) located at the Dunedin Marina at 51 Main Street Dunedin, Florida 34698.
