City of Dunedin Lift Station 8 & 15 Emergency Pump System

The work generally consists of the following:

Furnish and install one (1) self-priming pump system with new concrete equipment pad at Lift Station 8 and one (1) self-priming pump system at Lift Station 15. Work will include new suction and discharge piping to/from self-primping pumps, piping to connect to existing force main(s), valves and appurtenances, electrical conduit and wiring, startup and testing of the system. Lift Station 8 is located at 604 Buena Vista Drive N. & Douglas Avenue and Lift Station 15 is located at 905 Curlew Road & Alt. 19.

The budgeted amount for the project is $350,000.00.

The time allotted for this project is 120 days for substantial completion and 30 days for final completion.

A Pre-Bid meeting will not be held.

All contractor Requests For Information (RFI) must be submitted ten (10) days before the bid opening, to Timothy Calvit, P.E., Project Engineer, at [email protected], prior to 2:00 p.m., local time. The City will not respond to RFI's submitted after that date. The City will process the requests and respond within a timely manner.

Sealed proposals will be accepted by the City of Dunedin, Purchasing Office, 750 Milwaukee Avenue, Dunedin, Florida 34698, until
2:00 P.M., Local Time
Tuesday, January 8, 2019

at which time, bids will be opened and read aloud in the Engineering Office, located at the Office of the City Engineer, 737 Louden Ave, 2nd Floor, Dunedin, FL 34698 .

All work performed shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Copies of plans and specifications can be obtained by going to Demandstar at www.demandstar.com. Hard copies of the bid documents are available at a cost to the Contractor. Contact Chuck Ankney, CPPO, Purchasing Agent, at

It is the bidder's responsibility to check the final documents and addendum prior to bid submittal.

Two copies of the bid proposal shall be submitted on the standard forms that are included in the specifications and must be marked,

DO NOT OPEN IN MAIL ROOM.”

In addition, the proposals must be marked with the bidder's name and address and be accepted by the Purchasing Office by the time and date specified above. Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check or a cashier's check or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, as guarantee that the BIDDER will not withdraw from the competition after the opening of the bids and, if written notice is given of such award, enter into a written Contract with the City of Dunedin, Florida, in accordance with the written Proposal. Should the successful BIDDER fail to enter into a Contract, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

No proposal may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days without the consent of the City.

The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for a Certificate of Insurance, a Performance and Payment Bond, and meet other requirements, as set forth in the contract.

Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. The City of Dunedin is not responsible for the US Mail or private couriers regarding mail being delivered by the specified time so that a bid can be considered. Proposals by telephone, email, text, telegraph, or FAX will not be accepted. One contract shall be awarded for all work outlined above and described in the plans and specifications.

The City of Dunedin, Florida reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, to waive any irregularities or informalities, to re-advertise and to award the Contract in its best interest. Bids which are incomplete or which are not submitted in accordance with instructions in the INVITATION may be disqualified.
