NOTICE OF RULEMAKING FOR AMENITY CENTER RULES AND RATES BY
LAKEWOOD RANCH STEWARDSHIP DISTRICT
A public hearing will be conducted by the Board of Supervisors (the “Board”) of the Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District (the “District”) on June 8, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at 14400 Covenant Way, Lakewood Ranch, Florida 34202.
In accordance with Chapter 2005-338, Laws of Florida, as amended, and Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, the District hereby gives the public notice of its intent to adopt proposed rules and fees related to the use of the District's recreational facilities. The public hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to address proposed rules that: (1) address the requirements for the use of the District's recreational park facilities; and (2) establish the rental fees for the use of such facilities. The proposed fees are as follows:

The proposed rates may be adjusted at the public hearing pursuant to discussion by the Board of Supervisors and public comment. The purpose and effect of these rules and fees is to provide for efficient and effective District operations by setting rules and fees governing persons' use of District-owned recreational facilities. Specific legal authority for the rules and fees includes Chapter 2005-338(6)(6)(e), (6)(6)(q) and (6)(20), Laws of Florida, and Sections 120.54 and 120.81, Florida Statutes. Prior Notice of Rule Development was published in the Business Observer on May 4, 2018.
Any person who wishes to provide the District with a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative as provided by Section 120.541(1), Florida Statutes, must do so in writing within twenty-one (21) days after publication of this notice.
The public hearing may be continued to a date, time, and place to be specified on the record at the hearing. If anyone chooses to appeal any decision of the Board with respect to any matter considered at the public hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and should accordingly ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which includes the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based. At the hearing, one or more Supervisors may participate in the public hearing by speaker telephone.
