The City Commission of the City of Sarasota is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following Advisory Boards:
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Two seats with no requirements
Board of Adjustment
Two seats, required to be city residents
Board of Rules and Appeals
Five seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for a licensed mechanical contractor
• One seat for and individual with education, experience and knowledge to be deemed competent to sit in judgement of matters concerning the Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code
• One seat for a licensed fire sprinkler contractor
• Two seats for consumer representatives who are not, and never have been a member or practitioner of a profession regulated by the board or a member of any closely related profession
Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board
Four seats with the following requirement:
• Three seats with preference for city residents

Downtown Improvement District
One seat for a non-residential property owner subject to ad valorem taxation within the District
Employee Retirement Account Committee
Two seats with the following requirements:
• One seat with preference for individual with investment banking or investment management experience
• One seat with preference for participant of the plan
Historic Preservation Board
Two seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for an architect who is a city resident or owns property in the city
• One seat for an attorney who is a city resident or owns property in the city
Human Relations Board
Three seats with preference for city residents
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Citizen Advisory Committee
Two seats for city residents
Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board
Three seats with the following requirement:
• One seat for an owner of land in the redevelopment area
• One seat for a retailer or merchant in the redevelopment area
• One seat for a citizen at large who is a city resident
Nuisance Abatement Board
One seat with preference for city resident
Parks, Recreation & Environmental Protection Advisory Board
Three seats with the following requirements:
• One seat with preference for city resident
• One seat for a citizen with a particular interest in or association with Robert L Taylor Community Center

Police Complaint Committee
One seat for member, required to be city resident
Public Art Committee
Three seats with the following requirements:
• One seat for an architect who is a city resident or property owner
• One seat for an art expert who is a city resident or property owner
• One seat for a city resident or property owner
Sarasota Housing Authority
One seat with no requirement
St Armands Business Improvement District
One seat for an individual who is subject to ad valorem taxation within the District
Preference is given to persons who reside or own property in the City of Sarasota.
