BABCOCK RANCH COMMUNITY INDEPENDENT SPECIAL DISTRICT
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING; AND NOTICE OF REGULAR GOVERNING BOARD MEETING.
The Governing Board (“Board”) of the Babcock Ranch Community Independent Special District (“District”) will hold a public hearing on November 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at 14750 SR 31, Punta Gorda, Florida 33982. The public hearing will be a rulemaking hearing and will provide an opportunity for the public to address proposed rules that set fees and charges related to the use of the District's water utilities and amend rules related to its ERC Calculation. The purpose and effect of the proposed rules is to provide for efficient and effective District operations, and to provide sufficient revenues to meet expenses and provide services within the boundaries of the District. The proposed rule is as follows:

NOTE: Automatic Cost Escalation. In the absence of Board action, the District's rates, fees and charges shall be automatically increased without further action three percent (3%) per year. Upon application of this automatic cost escalation provision, the District Manager shall submit to the District Board of Supervisors a report detailing the amount of the escalation and the new rates as revised. The Rate Schedule shall be adjusted pursuant to this section as required.


ERC CALCULATION TOOL

The District reserves the right to modify in its sole discretion, the GPD used to calculate an ERC for a specific user based upon actual usage in the event the average water usage exceeds the GPD estimates in the ERC Calculation Tool. Customers will be responsible for any additional AFPI fees.

A regular board meeting of the District will also be held at that time where the Board may consider any other business that may properly come before it. A copy of the agenda may be obtained at the offices of the District Manager, Wrathell, Hunt and Associates, LLC, 2300 Glades Road, Suite 410W, Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 571-0010 (“District Manager's Office”), during normal business hours.
The public hearing and meeting are open to the public and will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Florida law. The public hearing and meeting may be continued to a date, time, and place to be specified on the record at the meeting. There may be occasions when Board Members or District Staff may participate by speaker telephone.
