Springs at Lake Alfred Project

Notice is hereby given that Meritage Homes of Florida, Inc. (“Developer”) will accept proposals from firms interested in providing labor, materials, and equipment for certain construction site work, including but not limited to earthwork, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management improvements, for the project known as Springs at Lake Alfred, and located in the City of Lake Alfred, Florida.
The project manual (“Project Manual”), comprised of proposal and contract documents, will be available for public inspection and may be obtained beginning August 5, 2022, at 1:00p.m. Contact Christopher Allen with Dewberry at 321.354.9739 to obtain a copy of the Project Manual. There will be a pre-bid proposal conference at the offices of Meritage Homes, 5337 Millenia Lakes Blvd. Suite 235, Orlando, FL 32839, on August 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. The Developer reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes to the Project Manual up until the time of the bid opening, and to provide notice of such changes only to those proposers who have indicated their intent to bid by attending the pre-proposal conference and registering at that meeting.
The Developer anticipates that the contract, or some portion thereof, may subsequently be assigned to the Springs at Lake Alfred Community Development District. In such event, the successful proposer will be required to furnish a payment and performance bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the value of the contract (as described in the Project Manual), with a surety acceptable to the District, and in accordance with Section 255.05, Florida Statutes.
Firms desiring to provide services for this project must submit 1 electronically copy of the proposal documents no later than August 26, 2022, at 12:00 pm, to C. Allen at [email protected], the Project Engineer. Each proposer shall supply a bid bond, or cashier's check, made payable to the Developer and in the amount of 10% of the total bid with its proposal. Proposals shall be in the form provided in the Project Manual and submitted in a sealed envelope, marked with a notation “RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - CONSTRUCTION SITE WORK.” The Developer reserves the right to return unopened to the proposer any proposals received after the time and date stipulated above. Each proposal shall remain binding for a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) days after the proposal opening.
Ranking of proposals will be made on the basis of qualifications, price and other criteria, all as set forth in the Project Manual, and at the sole discretion of the Developer. There are no bid protest rights of any kind associated with this RFP. Any and all questions relative to this project shall be directed in writing only to [email protected].
