NOTICE BY THE TOWN OF WINDERMERE, FLORIDA
OF THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR COSTS AND EXPENSES
FOR SOLID-WASTE MANAGEMENT FEES
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Town Council of the Town of Windermere, Florida, on August 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., at Town Hall, 520 Main Street, Windermere, FL 34786, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, concerning the adoption of a non-ad valorem assessment roll for costs and expenses incurred by the Town for solid-waste management. The purpose of the assessment is to reimburse the Town for costs and expenses that it incurs for solid-waste management.
All non-ad valorem assessments are approved by the Town Council and will be collected by the Orange County Tax Collector. All property within the Town is subject to the solid-waste management fee. A map of the area assessed, which is the entire Town, is below.















The garbage collection fee for residential and non-residential customers is determined as follows:
Curbside Service

The solid waste assessment will be adjusted annually by the following: (1) a percentage equal to the net change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers: Water, Sewer and Trash Collection Services (CUUR0000SEHG) published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The net change shall be calculated as the ratio of the 12-month average, April over April, of the current year to the 12-month average, April over April, of the previous year, plus (2) the rate/percentage of increase (if any has occurred since October 1 of the previous year) in the fee imposed by Orange County for the use of the Orange County landfill.
All affected property owners have the right to appear at the public hearing and to file written objections with the Town Council within 20 days of the publication of this notice.
