Notice of Proposed Airport Site
Pursuant to Florida Administrative Code 14-60.005
Recently, Manatee County Government purchased the old Manatee County Mosquito Control District complex for use by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is proposing to activate and use a helipad already existing at the location which is located at 2317 2nd Ave. W., Palmetto, FL 34221. The helipad will consist of one private-use landing pad and will be of sole use by the MCSO as needed for law enforcement activities.
It is anticipated that the use of the helipad at this location will enhance Sheriff's Office law enforcement flight operations providing better response times to calls for service by the Aviation Unit when needed. Having access by air when requested is a necessity for the Sheriff's Office to better serve the residents of Manatee County.
