NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Oakland will hold public hearings and proposes to adopt an ordinance as follows:
ORDINANCE NO. 2024-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF OAKLAND, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTIONS 62-89, 62-90, 62-91, 62-92, 62-93, AND 62-94 OF ARTICLE IV, “GOLF CARTS”, OF CHAPTER 62, “TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES”, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF OAKLAND, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROVAL OF GOLF CART OPERATION ON TOWN ROADWAYS BY RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR THE PROCEDURES FOR CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF GOLF CART COMMUNITIES AND ROADWAYS; REQUIRING GOLF CARTS TO BE EQUIPPED WITH CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY DEVICES AND REMOVING PREVIOUS RESTRICTIONS ON GOLF CART MODIFICATIONS; PROVIDING FOR THE HOURS OF OPERATION OF GOLF CARTS ON TOWN ROADWAYS; PROVIDING FOR LIMITATIONS ON DRIVERS OF GOLF CARTS; PROVIDING FOR COMPLIANCE WITH TRAFFIC LAWS, RESTRICTIONS ON GOLF CART USE, AND ENFORCEMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

All hearings are open to the public. Any interested party is invited to offer comments about this request at the public hearing or in advance by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, Comments regarding the public hearing may be submitted in writing to the Town of Oakland, PO Box 98, Oakland FL 34760, or by e-mail to [email protected]. A copy of the request can be inspected at the Town Hall. Any party appealing a land use decision made at a public hearing must ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes the evidence and testimony that is the basis of the appeal.
The time and/or location of public hearings are subject to change. Changes are announced at the initial scheduled hearing. Notice of any changes will not be published or mailed.

This meeting will be held as an in-person meeting and attendees may also attend virtually through the Zoom Platform however, attendees will be in listen-only mode and will not have the opportunity to provide public comments virtually.
