The administration of the Estate of OLGA MEJIAS, deceased, who died on January 10, 2020, is pending in the Circuit Court for Hillsborough County, Florida, Probate Division, the address of which is the Honorable Denise Pomponio, 800 E. Twiggs Street, Room 437 (Courtroom #41), Annex Courthouse, Tampa, Florida 33602. The names and addresses of the petitioner and the petitioner's attorney are set forth below.
There is an action pending in the Circuit Court for Hillsborough County, Florida, Probate Division for summary administration, to determine the homestead status of the decedent's real property and to sell the real property once it is determined to be the homestead of the decedent. The property is located at 8414 NORTH 18TH STREET, TAMPA, FLORIDA, 33604, with a legal description of LOTS 429 TO 432, INCLUSIVE, AND THE EAST 1/2 OF CLOSED ALLEY ABUTTING THEREON, OF REVISED PLAT OF OAK TERRACE, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 10, PAGE 36, OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA, together with improvements thereon with the county Tax Identification number: PIN: A-19-28-19-45B-000000-00429.0; Folio: 145730-0000.
The decedent was survived by multiple children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, some of which the Petitioner has been unable to locate or contact to date. The property listed above shall pass, based on the intestacy laws of the State of Florida, to David Mejias (1/3), Hector Mejias (1/21), Carlos Mejias (1/21), Angelique Mejias (1/21), Julio Mejias (1/21), Patrick Mejias (1/21), Marcella Richardson (1/21), Margie Matencio (1/12), David J. Mejias (1/12), Ronald Rodriguez (1/12), Keith Chance (1/63), Mariano Chance (1/63) and Terrell Mejias (1/63).
Pursuant to Florida Statutes ยง 49.011, any beneficiary who has not joined the Petition for Summary Administration and the Petition to Determine Homestead Status of Real Property shall have 28 days from the date of the first publication of this notice to contact either the court or the petitioner's attorney and join the petition(s) or file an objection. If the beneficiary fails to do either, an Order of Summary Administation and an Order Determining Homestead Status of Real Property will be entered by the Court.
The Orders will authorize the proceeds from the sale of the property described above owed to any beneficiary who fails to contact either the court or the petitioner's attorney to be deposited into the court registry. Further, the Orders will authorize the appointment of a special magistrate, Dennis A. Creed (Creed Law Group), to sign any closing paperwork on behalf of any beneficiary who fails to contact either the court or the petitioner's attorney. The special magistrate shall be compensated at a rate of $350 per hour, which will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale prior to disbursement of any funds to the beneficiaries. The order shall also authorize the disbursement of attorney fees in the amount of $3,500 plus costs to be distributed to Bedy Law, PLLC, prior disbursement of any funds to the beneficiaries.
