NOTICE OF ATTORNEY-CLIENT SESSION PURSUANT TO SECTION 286.011(8), FLORIDA STATUTES
The School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, hereby gives notice of a private attorney-client session to be held in accordance with Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes.
DATE: March 20, 2024
TIME: Immediately following the conclusion of New Business at the School
Board's Regular Meeting which commences at 10:30 a.m.
LOCATION: The Conference Hall of the Administration Building, 301
4th Street S.W., Largo, Florida.
PURPOSE: To conduct a private attorney-client session pursuant to, and subject to
the conditions prescribed by, Section 286.011, F.S., to discuss settlement
negotiations or strategy regarding litigation expenditures in connection
with the following pending litigation to which the School Board is a
party:
Pinellas Preparatory Academy, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation
v. School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, Case Number
21-004672-CI, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida.
Plato Academy Schools Corporation, a Florida not for profit
corporation; Galaxy Education, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation;
and Pinellas Education Organization, Inc., a Florida not for profit
corporation v. School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, Case Number
23-009533-CI, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida.
In addition to the statutorily required certified court reporter, whose
name will be announced at the commencement of the session, the
persons who will be attending the session are as follows: Board
Members Laura Hine, Chairperson, Carol J. Cook, Vice Chairperson,
Lisa N. Cane, Caprice Edmond, Eileen M. Long, Stephanie Meyer and
Dawn M. Peters; Kevin K. Hendrick, Superintendent; Stephanie
Woodford, Deputy Superintendent; David Koperski, School Board
Attorney; Kevin Smith, Chief Financial Officer; William A. Kebler,
Legal Counsel; and Chris W. Altenbernd, Legal Counsel.
